It is hard to believe, but as of March 1st, Creative Yarns is ten years old!  Now, we know that technically we should be calling this a tenth anniversary, not a birthday.  But it just feels right to wish Creative Yarns—the baby born from Nina and Jody’s dreams, perseverance, and vision—a happy birthday.  Whether you have been a friend of Creative Yarns since its doors opened at its first location ten years ago, or whether you just recently discovered it, you know that Creative Yarns is the hub of a community of knitters and crocheters.  It’s not simply a store in which a vast array of yarns, patterns, notions, and needles can be purchased and classes can be taken — although it is that, too.  Quite simply, it is a place where friends meet to knit, laugh, and share together.

As with every birthday, it is appropriate to thank all those who have helped that baby grow up.  From Nina, please accept her very sincere gratitude for the support and goodwill you have shown her over the past ten years.  While most of that time has been joyous and full of laughter, Nina is especially grateful for the love, support and caring that her ‘family’ has shown during those times of grief—when we lost Jody—and times of challenge—when Creative Yarns needed to change locations.  From the start, Creative Yarns was the product of one family—Nina and Jody’s.  Now, ten years later, that family has grown to include all of you.  Thank you.
